Thing that made me stupidly happy today

Not only is it sunny and beautiful today, but I got this CD in the mail, and I am happy, happy, happy!
This is one of my favorite country albums, and my previous copy of it got worn out. Sadly, that happened before I joined the era of iPods and digital backups, so I didn't have a digital copy. And of course, it's out of print now. And when I looked on Amazon to find a used copy, I couldn't find one for less than $29, which, I mean, come on.
But then! Then I stumbled across a Web site called MusicStack that is a marketplace of small sellers. And some lovely folks at Music in the Air in Lithia Springs, Georgia, had this album listed for $6. I snapped that sucker right up and did a little happy dance in my chair.
And right now, I'm loading it into iTunes!

Where oh where ...
Worst thing you can say to someone when she's looking for something and can't find it, and it's valuable, and she's upset? "Eh, it'll turn up."
The Boy nearly got a swift kick in the ass this afternoon when he said that to me. He might as well have said, "Eh, I don't give a shit."
Of course, 10 minutes later, when I just sat down and sobbed, I'm sure he was wishing he could've taken the kick in the ass instead. He's a lot better with the crying than he used to be, but he still gets a little squinky about it, especially when I'm crying over something he can't fix immediately.
On the up side, he is now doing the searching while I have a little cocktail and try to remember the last place I saw it.

SATC: The high school years
I admit, I am not so much a fan of Candace Bushnell's books as I am a fan of the on-screen version of her most famous book, "Sex and the City." Yes, the series was based on her book, but the series has always felt warmer and friendlier to me.
Despite that, though, I am excited to learn that there's finally a release date for "The Carrie Diaries," Bushnell's upcoming book chronicling Carrie Bradshaw's high school years. The book's coming out April 27, a month before the second SATC movie hits theaters May 28. Can't wait!

High-speed house cleaning
I got all my mayhem and foolishness (yes, I watch a little too much "Clean House") sorted out and put away in record time this morning thanks to this excellent album. I hadn't listened to it in I don't know how long, and I found myself dancing all over the place, while vacuuming, washing the breakfast dishes, sorting laundry, etc. In fact, I still feel a little wound up, and I haven't even had an iced vanilla latte yet today!

Top of my Christmas list
Y'all, I might be in trouble. I just learned about this little beauty, which is a home letterpress machine.
That's right. For $149.99, plus the cost of paper (and you know I already have a little -- ahem -- of that on hand), you can create your very own letterpress stationery.
I am almost too excited for words.
So now I'm just waiting for some reviews, to see if this is everything I hope it is. 'Cause seriously, if it works well, it is mine!
It's available at one of my favoritest places, Paper Source.
(The Boy just told me that if I get this for Christmas, he's pretty sure he's on his own for the month of January. You know, until the newness wears off a little. He ain't wrong.)

Ernie and Bert and gangsta rap
Y'all, this is about 10 kinds of wrong, but I can't stop giggling.
